i don't know if i use the correct expressions, i've the german version of adobe illustrator 10.

if you draw a spiral with it, there is one parameter called "verj?ngung", on the dictionary it says "taper ratio".

does anybody of you know how this is calculated with the spiral? i mean .. what is changed actually? can someone explain that to me, please?

By the name I would assume it is the number of pixels the radius of the spiral decreases (or increases) per revolution.

but the radius is not homogeneous from one revolution to the other.. :confused:

and the very inner radius doesn't change a lot, just the complete spiral is "bigger" or "smaller" ..

There is another taper ratio called Rational BSPLINE where the Radius is simply linear interpolated over the Length of the spiral (cone).

Theres another called non rational KSPLINE where the Radius is spherically interpolated over the Length, this can be easy or hard, you can use easy sine function to calc current R or u can do it hard but more accurate using quaternion spherical lerping (aka slerping) :)
