The annual overseas convention on Database and specialist platforms purposes (DEXA) is now good proven as a reference clinical occasion. The reader will locate during this quantity a suite of clinical papers that characterize the cutting-edge of study within the area of information, info and information administration, clever structures, and their purposes. The seventeenth example of the sequence of DEXA meetings used to be held on the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Cracow university in Kraków, Poland, in the course of September 4–8, 2006. numerous collocated meetings and workshops lined really expert and complementary subject matters to the most convention subject. 4 meetings ? the eighth foreign convention on info Warehousing and information Discovery (DaWaK), the seventh overseas convention on digital trade and net applied sciences (EC-Web), the fifth overseas convention on digital executive (EGOV), and the 3rd foreign convention on belief, privateness, and safety in electronic company (TrustBus) ? and 14 workshops have been collocated with DEXA. the complete kinds a special overseas occasion with a balanced intensity and breadth of subject matters. Its much-appreciated conviviality fosters unequalled possibilities to satisfy, proportion the newest medical effects and speak about the newest technological advances within the zone of data applied sciences with either younger scientists and engineers and senior world-renown specialists. This quantity includes the papers chosen for presentation on the convention. every one submitted paper used to be reviewed through 3 or 4 reviewers, contributors of this system Committee or exterior reviewers appointed via contributors of this system Committee.

When an A element v is being parsed, the semantic attribute $A of v is already at the top of the stack S. For each child u of v to be processed, we compute the semantic attribute $B of u based on the semantic rules for $B in rule(p) associated with the production p = A → P (A); we push the value onto S, and proceed to process the children of u along with the SAX parsing process. If the production of the type B of u is B → PCDATA, the PCDATA of u is stored in a string variable Xj . Note that by the definition of XML 2 DB mappings, the last step is only needed when p is of the form A → B1 , .
The framework is based on a notion of XML 2 DB mappings. An XML 2 DB mapping extends a (possibly recursive) DTD by associating element types with semantic attributes and rules. It extracts either part or all of the data from an XML document, and generates SQL updates to increment an existing database using the XML data. We also provide an efficient technique to evaluate XML 2 DB mappings in parallel with SAX parsing. These yield a systematic method to store XML data selectively in an existing database.
